The Earth Centre is an AMS club that receives its funding primarily through student opt-out fees with the occasional grant. We are a non-profit store composed of an eight person managerial team responsible for store operations, education, volunteers, and marketing. Along with a group of dedicated volunteers who oversee store transactions and customer service, The Earth Centre grants the Queen’s community convenient access to inexpensive environmentally-friendly products and information through its expanding library. The Earth Centre offers Queen’s students, faculty and community members an opportunity to transform their environmental concern into positive action through green consumerism and innovative discussion. The Earth Centre encourages students to engage in positive dialogue about the environment through exposure to new information and opinions on environmental topics. The products The Earth Centre carries offer a more sustainable, responsible alternative to students’ consumer needs. While the best consumerism is always non-consumerism, The Earth Centre offers a more realistic alternative by selling necessary products that were made with an environmental mind frame and have lower impacts on the environment than many store-brand products. We are located just down the hall from P&CC in JDUC Room 033.
The Peer Support Centre (PSC) is comprised of a dedicated group of trained student volunteers, here to offer social and personal peer-based support to students at Queen’s University. The centre provides a safe and confidential environment where you are encouraged to speak with one of our empathetic volunteers. We are here to offer support for any and all issues and can connect you with resources you may not have been aware of. No concern is ‘too diverse’ or ‘too small’.
There are a number of ways to get in contact with the Peer Support Centre such as phoning in or dropping by. We are located in room 34 of the JDUC (facing the Publishing and Copy Centre, turn right and walk to the very end of the hallway).

Located in John Deutsch University Center, the AMS Food Bank serves confidential and non-judgmental food service to members of the Queen’s community. We are a non-profit organization which aims to provide our clients with food services in the most comfortable environment possible. We operate mainly on donations as well as an opt-outable student fee from both the AMS and the Society for Graduate and Professional Students. As a non-profit organization, we aim for our funds to be put towards the upkeep of the Food Bank itself in the purchasing of fresh fruits, vegetables, milk and other items on a weekly basis.
The Food Bank provides a reliable and confidential service to ensure that Queen’s students can be healthy and productive as they pursue academic achievement. We also seek to address the underlying causes of poverty so as to alleviate, and ultimately eliminate poverty amongst Queen’s community members.
