#ReUnionStreet
So you might have heard people talking about the ReUnion Street Festival around campus, but what is all the hype really about? Is it a closed off street party? Can underage students attend? Will alumni be there? What will it add to Homecoming? All of these questions and more will be answered below about Queen’s NEW addition to Homecoming 2014!
Seeking to build on the traditions of Homecomings passed, the ReUnion Street Festival is an opportunity for the entire Queen’s community to come and celebrate tricolour pride together. Last Homecoming students asked for more interaction with Alumni and MORE spirit: and #ReUnionStreet is the answer to that! This Homecoming, we’re asking you to come join us in celebrating shared success, with alumni and current students. Queen’s spirit will be running high as we embrace our unified tricolour pride together! This is NOT just a street part–it’s a chance to embrace Queen’s vibrant history and passion at the place where it all began.
On Saturday, October 18th from 8:00pm-2:00am come down to Union Street (between Division and University) to check out live entertainment, food trucks, games, drinks and the largest Oil Thigh in Queen’s history! Worried about being under age? Don’t be! Everyone and all ages are welcome at the Festival. Students of legal drinking age will get in FREE (student card required) to the licensed area, while alumni and guests can purchase tickets at the door or here: https://www.eventbrite.ca/
Don’t miss out on celebrating Homecoming with students and alumni at this inaugural event. This is your opportunity to get together with the entire Queen’s Community and embrace our shared tricolour spirit!
In addition, the Alma Mater Society will be running a HoCoPhoCo (Homecoming Photo Contest) in hopes of finding the best photo from the ReUnion Festival! Simply snap your best shot while at the event, upload it with the hashtag #ReUnionStreet and send it to by Sunday at 4pm to be eligible to win a $50 Tricolour Gift Card! The top five images will be selected and voted on via Facebook next week to determine a winner.
Stay tuned to the Facebook event page for updates on performances and the photo contest!
See you on #ReUnionStreet the Saturday night of Homecoming!
