YIKES a Theatre Company is looking to put up new and innovative shows that explore the worlds of the experimental, the abstract, and the postmodern. YIKES is truly an acronym for Your Ideas, our Knowledge an Experimental Show. We are geared up and here to support creative individuals ready for a challenge. We want to help young emerging artists get real experience in the theatre world by giving them a professional theatre environment to produce their art. The company wants to connect our Artists and Production team with Established Artists as a resource and to open up the opportunity for a mini-mentorship. Through a lottery based system, the YIKES’ season is always changing and evolving from what it was before. Artists get the opportunity to explore ways of creation before they buckle down to create a show for the final showcase in February. The opening event is then followed by a showcase, and final show to complete the full YIKES season. Throughout the season there will be the opportunity for our Artists to get feedback on their show. Suggestions from the community are used to help our artists create a more polished piece of theatre. Though polished will have its own unique definition for each artist to interpret for their show. We are really excited to get the season going, but with so many factors being up to chance we couldn’t tell you exactly what our shows will look like. Honestly, Yikes.
