Description

MWINS is a club that strives to empower and support muslim women to pursue careers in STEM and nursing while actively practicing their faith. Our club works towards creating a safe and inclusive space for all Muslim women alike regardless of race, sect, ethnicity, or the way in which one chooses to practice -we recognize the importance of intersectionality and aim to increase awareness on the struggles that Black and other visible minority Muslim women might face within academia. MWINS will provide students opportunities to network on a social and professional level; attend workshops for professional development, empowerment, and education; as well as be part of intercollegiate mentorship programs. We strive towards increasing awareness and promoting faith inclusion within academia/professional settings at Queens, and in the Kingston community as a whole. We are always open to newcomers and are hiring year round. There is no requirement to be female or Muslim to join our club. Fill out the form in our linktree and email us at (mwins@clubs.queens.ca) anytime in order to apply!
