Queen’s Baja SAE is a multi-disciplinary design team of students that designs, manufactures, and races a single rider off-road vehicle over the course of a school year. Overall design work is divided into multiple projects specific to different subsystems of the vehicle. Subsystems include the powertrain, vehicle dynamics, chassis and ergonomics, and electrical.
The team competes in the North American Baja SAE Three Series against over 150 teams from around the world to compete in a variety of dynamic and endurance events. The Queen’s Baja team is an opportunity for any undergraduate engineering students of all disciplines to gain real world design and manufacturing experience, as well as the opportunity to test their designs and see them implemented in a real-world application. For almost forty years our team has been a strong international competitor in Baja SAE, recently placing first, fourth and seventh overall. This past year, the team placed sixth in the Baja SAE Virtual Competition.
