Meet the Clubs Comissioner and the Orientation Roundtable Coordinator
Clubs Commssioner, Stephanie Sahadeo (she/her)
Hi everyone! My name’s Stephanie, and I’m this year’s Commissioner of Clubs. I’m heading into my 4th year of my Political Studies BAH with a minor in English Literature. I’m thrilled to work and advocate on behalf of the AMS Clubs body this year as it is an area that has immensely impacted my undergraduate experience.
Like many other students, clubs have been an integral part of my Queen’s experience, but they’ve been particularly special to me as an introvert. Not only has my involvement impacted my network and professional skill development but it has also largely facilitated my social life over the past few years. Clubs are where I learned about what make Queen’s special. Through witnessing the passion those around me have displayed for different club mandates over the years, I’ve been inspired to play a larger role on behalf of that community as I wrap up my time here. For quieter students, I can’t recommend it enough, please take advantage of how many choices there are to get involved, it may be cliché but it’s true- there really is something for everyone!
I’m heavily anticipating our eventual move to the JDUC! I’m so hopeful that the Club Wing will provide a long-awaited space for collaborative work and will help rebuild the community we lost during the pandemic. The Clubs Office at the end of the Club Wing will be an amazing way to increase the dialogue between AMS Clubs and the organization at large!
I’ve really enjoyed communicating and working with Club leadership over the Summer, and if we haven’t gotten the chance to chat yet, please stop by during office hours- even if it’s just to say hello!
Office Hours: Tuesdays from 1pm-4pm
Orientation Roundtable Coordinator, Maddie Ronan (she/her)
Hello everyone!
My name is Maddie Ronan (she/her), and I am the 2024 – 2025 ORT Coordinator!
I am in my fourth year of Concurrent Education, in the Intermediate/Senior Stream, with teachables in History and Geography! Being part of Queen’s Fall Orientation has given me an unparalleled sense of community, and my journey from being a first year Con-Eddie to Orientation Roundtable Coordinator has been nothing short of rewarding. In every role I’ve embraced during Fall Orientation – an incoming student, a Con-Ed Orientation Leader “Teach”, Head Teach, and Orientation Roundtable Coordinator, one undeniable truth prevails – there is a transformative magic to Fall Orientation that brings forth one’s finest self. Queen’s Fall Orientation is more than a series of activities; it is a manifestation of a collective dedication to excellence and learning. The role I have undertaken as Orientation Roundtable Coordinator has demanded not only hard work but also a deep-seated passion for creating meaningful experiences, and my commitment to delivering exceptional Orientation programs and supporting and training Orientation Leaders and Executives, drove me to push my limits, to innovate, and to strive for excellence in every detail. In the aftermath of Fall Orientation 2024, the focus is on critical reflection, growth, and improvement looking to Fall Orientation 2025. I am grateful and excited to continue working with the AMS and the university to adapt this incredible portfolio to transition and build onto the Fall Orientation experience.
