FAQ - Pre-Application Consultation

Before applying to a salaried position in the AMS, it is important to meet with the student who currently holds the job, as well as others identified as “Useful Contacts” on the job description. These consults will give you valuable insight into the position you wish to apply to by touching on areas such as work-load, current projects, and general responsibilities.

If you’re even the slightest bit interested in a position, we encourage you to email and set up a consult to find out more! If you are ever unsure about who to contact, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Talent Acquisition Manager at talent@ams.queensu.caas they will be able to put you in contact with the right individual.

There is also an updated Contact List at the bottom of the AMS website. Here applicants can find information such as phone number and email for the person currently holding the position they are thinking about applying to.

Pre-application consultation will give you the opportunity to learn more about the position you are thinking about applying for. Consultation will not give you access to explicit information about the questions asked during the interview process.

The AMS Hiring and Appointment Policy and Procedures Manual governs how an individual is hired to an AMS position and their eligibility throughout. Get more informed!
