AMS to Hold Open Forum on Racial and Ethnic Discrimination

KINGSTON ON – Over the past few days we have witnessed threats chalked on buildings and directed at students on social media, this is not representative of our Queen’s values. This is taking away from an educational opportunity to engage all students in a discussion about race and racism at Queen’s.

The Committee Against Racial and Ethnic Discrimination (CARED) within the AMS along with the Queen’s Human Rights Office will be holding a forum about “race”, culture, racism and discrimination at Queen’s. The event will occur on Thursday December 1^st, from 5:30-7:30pm in Wallace Hall in the JDUC.

Our intention is to give members of the Queen’s community the opportunity to voice their concerns in a constructive manner regarding a culture on this campus that does not exist in isolation.
