2024 Rector Election Update

On December 12th, 2023, Owen Crawford-Lem, the 38th Rector of Queen’s University, announced that he will resign from his position on April 30th, 2024, serving a 2-year term.

The Rector, elected by all students and as the third highest officer of the University, advocates and shares the perspective of students at the Board of Trustees, with members of the senior administration, and at other committees and forums. The position also allows you to undertake a number of specific advocacy efforts and initiatives which you are able to outline in your election platform.

The position has allowed me to become deeply involved in university governance and amplify student perspectives on a wide range of issues, including mental health, student housing, academic experience, and food insecurity.
