Who are the Queen’s Student Constables?StuCons are Queen’s students! Our service is entirely staffed and managed by students, making it the only one of its kind in North America. Every year, we screen hundreds of applications we receive for individuals who possess exceptional interpersonal skills, sensitivity, judgment, confidence, and leadership. Where do Queen’s Student Constables Work?StuCons can be seen working at The Queen’s Pub, Alfie’s, Clark Hall Pub, athletic events, orientation events, semi-formals, and many other events at Queen’s University. We can be spotted in our bright yellow shirts and jackets. What do the Queen’s Student Constables do?The Queen’s Student Constables’ duties at student events are to ensure the safety of patrons and event staffs, to enforce the governing regulations of the Society, and to uphold the regulations stipulated in the Liquor Licence Act of Ontario. Safety is of the utmost concern to Student Constables. As appropriate, they will check patrons’ pieces of identification, frisk for alcohol and weapons, monitor patrons’ intoxication levels and provide appropriate crowd control. Additionally, the Student Constables act as a supportive resource available to attendees who may be concerned about themselves, their friends, or the behavior of other individuals at the event. As a student organization, we pride ourselves on our ability to perform our duties while utilizing diplomacy, reason, and above all else, respect for our fellow students whom we serve. Are the Queen’s Student Constables Hiring?Yes we are! Applications are available at the AMS Front Desk in the lower JDUC.
