The three directors that sit on AMS Council oversee, directly or indirectly, the operation of the AMS' wide array of services and businesses that are arranged under three broad umbrellas of Hospitality & Safety Services, Retail Services, and Media Services. The directors, management teams, services and the bulk of the over 500 students the AMS employs constitute "AMS corporate". RetailDestinations
Students use Destinations to purchase Tri-Colour bus tickets to Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa, for tickets to local concerts and events or to have their International Student Identity Cards made. Our store also provides a direct airport shuttle to Pearson international airport in Toronto, runs an all-inclusive, student spring break trip to the Caribbean and acts as a booking agent for charter bus rentals. 101.9FM CFRC is your campus and community radio station run from the basement of Carruthers Hall. Established in 1922, it is one of the oldest radio stations in Canada. The Queen's Journal, or simply The Journal, is the main student-run newspaper at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. It was established in 1873, making it one of the oldest student newspapers in Canada. It is as old as the Harvard Crimson, the oldest continuously published student newspaper in the United States. The Guide to Queen’s Agenda (GQA) delivers a day planner and informative guide to 7000 students every year, free of charge. The Agenda is printed on Friesens Eco-Friendly paper that’s made with 100% recycled fiber, 100% post-consumer waste and processed chlorine free. The guide contains a section devoted to the AMS, which delivers an overview of its services and commissions, and information on non-academic discipline. Also, the GQA contains information regarding other aspects of university life, such as a guide to housing and information on local businesses. Queen’s TV is a rapidly-growing television and production service at Queen’s. Queen’s TV produces a weekly television show highlighting campus news, entertainment, and student-life programming. Queen’s TV also hosts the Video Factory, which produces affordable videos or a variety of campus groups and clubs.
