November 15, 2007 - BLACKOUT II @ Alfie's Nightclub!!
The best party of the month is back on Saturday, November 24th! If you came to Blackout Saturday in September, you already know what it is. We've got a sweet arsenal of lighting effects to completely transform Alfie's (black lights, wear white!). DJ Eklypse will be back, spinning the best in hip hop all night while a live MC keeps the crowd moving. We've also got a crew of talented breakdancers to pump up the dance floor.
To make the night even better, we've got Steam Whistle sponsoring the event, doing promos and giveaways throughout the night! Cover at the door is $5 and goes towards subsidizing future live entertainment on campus. Don't miss it!
November 14, 2007 - UPDATES!!
Sorry it's been so long since the last update, we've had lots of stuff going on. To recap...
Roz Bell and db Clifford performed at Alfie's in October - awesome show! It was a really chill night and everyone seemed to dig the music. There's a sweet review of the show in the latest edition of diatribe, definitely check it out. Just before Halloween, we had the Second City Sketch Comedy Tour stop by campus. The auditorium was packed, the show was hilarious, good times all around. We've also run two trips to Ottawa for Sens/Leafs games and one to Toronto to see the Raptors (being an avid Sens fan, I should note that the Leafs perished at both games, but I digress...).
It's definitely been a crazy couple of months! Stop by Destinations to check out all the awesome events coming up... Lates!
September 21, 2007 - BLACKOUT Saturday @ Alfie's Nightclub!
We've teamed up with Alfie's
Nightclub to bring you the best party of the month on Saturday, September 29th! Our DJ will
be spinning a variety of old and new school hiphop (and probably some
stuff you haven't heard yet). To add some dynamic to the event, a
dance team will hit the stage with a choreographed performance, while a
crew of talented break dancers pump up the dance floor. A live MC
will be running the show.
Cover at the door is $5 and goes towards subsidizing future live entertainment on campus.
September 11, 2007 - Metric Ends Frosh Week With a Bang!

to the show last week! We had around 5000 people come out to see
Metric, We Are Scientists and Liam and Me - a huge turnout for a Frosh

Remeber to hang onto your wristband, it's worth 20% off at Joe Dough's
Pizza (15% off deliveries) - Everytime you use it, they're going to
give 10% back to the QEA to help fund future shows at Queen's.
Stay tuned for some awesome events...

June 6, 2007 - WONDERLAND Trip!
The
first project put on by the new Destinations/QEA team! On Saturday,
June 23rd we're sending a fleet of buses to Canada's Wonderland for
only $50 per person. The cost includes round-trip bus fare and park
admission (admission alone is normally just over $50, so it's a pretty
solid deal). Buses are leaving from the JDUC (corner of University and
Union) at 7am, making our arrival time roughly 9:30-10am depending on
traffic. Once we get there, the day is yours to enjoy as you see fit
until 7pm when the buses will take us all back to glorious Ktown. It's
going to be an awesome day so don't miss out... Tickets and info at
Destinations!
June 6, 2007 - New Home for the QEA!
We
are pleased to announce that the Queen's Entertainment Agency has
merged with Destinations! From now on, if you have any questions about
an upcoming event, just swing by Destinations during store hours (10am
- 4pm during the summer, 9am - 5pm starting in September). This allows
us to provide better service for students by making it easier than ever
to stay informed about shows, purchase tickets and have all your
questions answered. It also means that Destinations staff will be
knowlegable on all things QEA and will be able to help you out if I'm
not reachable. We're looking forward to an awesome year! Have a great
summer.
