Friends of MSF: Queen’s Chapter provides students with the opportunity to engage and learn about humanitarian issues in line with Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) values and the MSF charter. MSF provides rapid emergency medical relief in times of crisis in areas with little or no medical infrastructure, operating independently from political, economic, and religious influences. The Friends of MSF club raises awareness and funds for the themes supported by MSF through displays, speakers’ nights, concerts, conferences, and more. This club also provides its members with information about the nature of overseas volunteer work in the hope that they will consider volunteering with MSF later in their professional careers. Since MSF is an organization that involves individuals from a wide array of professions, Friends of MSF: Queen’s also strives to recruit members from as many different faculties as possible.

The purpose of Friends of MSF: Queen’s is to promote and raise awareness on campus and within the Kingston community about MSF and the causes it supports. A further goal of the Friends of MSF club is to raise funds for MSF to support its missions and provide medical supplies to those in need.
