Queen's South Asian Association (QSAA)
What makes you unique?:
Queen’s South Asian Association is an association of Queen’s University students from or with interest in Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. It is a non-political, non-religious organization that concerns itself with some of the popular cultural activities from the region. Our Goal is to foster international understanding among the students of Queen’s University as well as Kingston community about South Asian cultures, heritages, and events. Moreover, one of our initiatives is to provide opportunities for students to engage in South Asian cultural activities in an interactive and respectful environment.
What does your club do?:
QSAA hosts events throughout the year including Dandiya, Diwali, Holi, and other formals, and club socials. We celebrate cultural festivals, holidays while embracing the different new years from various parts of South Asia. We also offer South Asian dance classes to the Kingston community, as we have done for the past 5 years.
